Illinois' Fastest County Fair Track Hosts Pari-mutuel Wagering for Two Nights
The Brown County Fair will kick off TWO big nights of Harness Racing starting at 7:00PM on Wednesday, August 4 and concluding with a star studded 7:00PM program on Thursday, August 5. Purses are again very high and the 2-day offering will be one of the richest in Brown County Fair history with over $150,000 in purses. The Thursday night aged pace for Illinois conceived and foaled 4-year-old and up is the richest of the two nights at an estimated $18,000. Through the cooperation of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Balmoral and Maywood Parks in Chicago and the Illinois Racing Board, the Brown County Fair will again offer pari-mutuel wagering. The Brown County Fair continues to be the only Illinois county fair offering pari-mutuel wagering.
Chosen a few years ago as one of the Nation's "Blue Ribbon Fairs" for its first class harness racing, the Brown County Fair will continue its unrivaled tradition with two extraordinary nights in 2010.
