The contestants of the Miss Brown County Fair Queen Pageant are guaranteed to provide a fun and elegant evening on Tuesday, August 1st at 7:30pm in front of the grandstand. Along with the Queen contestants, an energetic group of 5 and 6 year olds will compete for the titles of Little Miss and Mr. Brown County Fair.
Categories the Queen contestants will be judged on are interviews in the afternoon while physical condition, facial beauty, stage presence, speech and communication skills are that evening. The Little Miss and Mr. contestants will be interviewed by the emcee on stage the evening, as well.
The evening will begin with performances by all the contestants created by Heather Henry of Heather’s Tumble N’ Tap. The fantastic contestants will be partying all night with “The Great Gatsby!”
To allow time for judging throughout the evening, dancers from Heather’s Tumble n’ Tap will perform routines and Brenna Pherigo Photography will provide a photo show of the Queen and her contestants.
The reigning royalty, Queen Lauren Dunn, Little Miss Ella Behymer, and Little Mr. Royal Wolfe will crown their successors on pageant night. The new titleholders will reign over the rest of the fair week and throughout the year.
In January, the 2017 Queen will represent Brown County at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention in the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield. Over $1,500 worth of scholarships, bonds, cash, and gifts will be awarded to the new queen through support of the local merchants and the fair board.
